Entrepreneurship, AI, and the Future of Energy: My Texas A&M MBA Talk

I’m a Longhorn. I spoke to a bunch of Aggies last weekend about entrepreneurship and the future of energy. And I didn’t even get booed off the stage!

On Saturday I spent a few hours with the Texas A&M Professional MBA cohort here in Houston.

We explored a wide range of topics:

➡️ How high can oil prices really go as a result of the Iran War?

➡️ How are oil & gas executives walking the market tightrope of supply disruptions and higher commodity prices?

➡️ Are US companies under-investing in the energy transition?

➡️ How do I use AI to expand the reach and impact of my work at Krimmel Strategy Group?

➡️ How do I curate and optimize my own personal information diet?

➡️ What are the most important business-building lessons I’ve learned since founding Krimmel Strategy Group?

We had people in the room for large oil & gas companies who felt the current market tension firsthand, and asked important questions around how you go about formulating and evolving a worthy strategic response in real time.

Not everyone in the room worked in or around energy.

One woman had read through my LinkedIn posts and asked about some of the broader career advice I have shared publicly, and how I balance that kind of career guidance with the market-focused commentary I share most frequently.

It turned into a deeply personal conversation. I tried my best to reflect back to them some of the challenges I’ve faced and the lessons I learned along the way. I wanted to offer them added perspective as they navigate their professional journey MBA-in-hand.

Thanks so much to the group for welcoming me. It was a real highlight.

P.S. Many thanks also to Bridgette Chambers and Amy Dwyer for inviting me to participate and being exceptional hosts.

I had a two-hour spot that turned into three as the conversation in the room evolved and expanded. Their support and flexibility meant a ton.
